It’s been quite some months since I posted to Polyester Vintage, but I’m back, feeling the love again and ready to post more regularly. If you’ve been wondering why the silence, I’ve needed to take some time out from blogging in order to recharge my batteries and nourish my soul.

 

 

You may have guessed that while I’ve been quiet on the blogging front, I have still been making the occasional addition to my vintage closet. Slimming down from last year’s extra pounds has made things easier and given me more options. So maybe some of that hope couture will soon be back on rotation.

Things that have been inspiring me are my record collection and seeing some live bands including the brilliant and bizarre B52s, the magnificent Simple Minds and the band I first saw in 1983, Culture Club. They were all sounding just as good as they did in the 80s, if not bigger and more epic in sound.

2017 is the year of fresh starts for me after 2016 was a low point in my life after my father passed away. While the sadness and sense of loss are greater than ever and will always be with me I am finally beginning to feel a sense of new horizons, opening doors and renewed inspiration alongside the grief.
